Four international airports serve the New York-New Jersey region: John F. Kennedy (JFK) International, LaGuardia International (LGA), Newark Liberty International (EWR) Airport and Stewart International (SWF) Airport. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey operates both major airports in New York City (on land leased from the City), Stewart and Newark.

More than 200,000 passengers travel through JFK and LGA airports every weekday. In 2015, records were broken when 124.2 million passengers traveled through JFK, LGA, and EWR for the fiscal year, which generated $80 billion in revenue.
